1 in 4 U.S. Adults Now Use Mobile Apps!
A recent study from the Pew Internet
Project illustrates just how rapidly consumers are embracing
applications on their mobile devices. Here are some interesting
facts to help you make the best informed
decision on the value of using and being part of a mobile app:
Of the
82% of U.S. adults who
are now active cell phone users, 43% now have apps on
their phones, and more than two-thirds of them use those apps
regularly. In other words, 24% of the U.S. adult
population actively uses apps, the study estimates.
Apps users are more educated and more
affluent than other adults
29%
of adult cell phone users
have downloaded an app to their phone
One in ten adult cell phone users (10%)
had downloaded an app in the past week; 20% of cell phone
users under age 30 download apps this frequently
One in eight adult cell phone users (13%)
has paid to download an app
Among cell phone users with apps, the
average adult has 18 apps on his or her phone
